The benefits of volunteering

Helping others through volunteering can provide immense satisfaction, as well as valuable experience for students, long-term unemployed or those wishing to change career. Many of our volunteers have gone on to find employment or started college courses having built their confidence and gained the experience they needed. We need volunteers to work in every aspect of our work. Why not check out the list of jobs below and see if any of them are for you?

  • Serve tea and coffee
  • Serve Lunch
  • Take part in activities with members
  • Escort members on their minibus journeys to and from the centre
  • Push wheelchairs and assist on outings
  • Keep the centre clean and tidy
  • Drive minibus during outings, and for day centre (experience required)
  • Kitchen Help with food preparation (Kitchen Assistant)
  • Wash up and do general cleaning (Kitchen Porter)
  • Monday Club
Care for and befriend members
  • Serve tea and coffee
  • Do puzzles, play games and take part in craft activities with members
  • Escort members on their minibus journeys to and from the club
  • Drive minibus (experience required)

The Well Charity Shop

  • Sort donated clothes
  • Steam donated clothes
  • Sort and display books and bric-a-brac
  • Keep the shop clean and tidy
  • Register products for selling on e-bay
